Forth Valley College’s second-year Art and Design students showcase their diverse exhibition,

Second year students on the Bachelor of Art and Design course at Forth Valley College have just installed an exhibition of their work at the Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling University.

Jessica Kinross, Bruce Lithgow, Elliot McAviney, Rosie Nicholson, Agnieszka Niziolek-Marciniak and Deborah Richmond, will be exhibiting their work at the free ‘Making Our Mark’ event from Wednesday 26 March until Monday 28 April (10am-10pm).

The exhibition brings together a range of artworks including paintings, prints, sculptural objects, textiles and mixed media pieces. It has been chosen specifically to reflect the range of visual and conceptual interests of the group, from modernist architecture to pop culture and identity, the ethics of fast fashion and the power of social media.

A public event will be held at the gallery space on Monday 28 April at 6pm where students will give an informal tour and question and answer session about the exhibition.

FVC Lecturer Michelle Letowska, said: “The exhibition came about as part of a staff initiative to support the students with their professional development skills. It is a fantastic opportunity for the group to showcase their work in the public domain and we are delighted that the Macrobert Arts Centre were interested in hosting the exhibition.

“The work is of a high standard and the show looks great. Preparing for the exhibition has given the students an insight into working with the Macrobert team to curate, install and market the work, developing highly useful skills they will need when pursuing their creative careers.”

Please note that on occasion opening times can change. Please check the Macrobert website https://www.macrobertartscentre.org/  and socials on the day for any updates.
